Code of Conduct

The PKHL Code of Conduct

RESPECT THE GAME

The PKHL is founded on the principal that hockey is the greatest game on

earth. We, as players in this independent league, recognize that we are all

brought together to celebrate this great game and we pledge to never take for

granted the opportunity and the ability to still play. On and off the ice we will

conduct ourselves as ambassadors for the sport, and will always show respect

towards referees, arena staff, and anyone else involved with hockey or the

PKHL. We will always respect all PKHL property (league jerseys, water bottles,

pucks, trophies, etc) and the property of our host arena. We pledge to respect

the sport of hockey and we pledge only to play as long as we still love the game.

RESPECT YOUR TEAMMATES

Hockey is a team sport, and therefore we need each other to play. As a

member of this league, we are also members of a team who will depend on us

for support, encouragement, camaraderie, and dependability. As good

teammates, we will value the contributions of our fellow players regardless of

their age or skill level. We will be unselfish on the ice and conduct ourselves

according to the rules of the game as to not intentionally penalize our team. We

will be reliable in our weekly attendance and we will quickly notify our team

captain if we are unable to play.

RESPECT YOUR OPPONENTS

As a member of the PKHL we are more connected to opposing players than in

any other league. As a draft league, members of opposing teams could be

teammates in a few short months and could sub on our current teams at any

time. It is important that we recognize and value each other league-wide for our

contributions to this endeavor and for our shared love for the game of hockey.

We acknowledge and greatly encourage the spirit of competition, and we

recognize that player safety and enjoyment are paramount to continuing a

successful league for years to come. We pledge to never disrespect our

opponents, verbally or physically, and to continually conduct ourselves like adults

in all on and off-ice situations.
